Rotating Shifts 12-hour shifts 3-days off per week Weekends as needed Holidays as needed Job Duties:
Providing excellent customer service to our clients, staff, and visitors.
Provide rapid response to critical incidents calmly and efficiently.
Observe, survey, and provide written and verbal activity reports to the assigned site.
Enforce client procedures, regulations, and standards.
Perform firefighting duties, including advancing hose lines, fire apparatus pump operations, safely operating power tools, climbing ladders up to 100ft, and wearing firefighter protective gear, including self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA).
Provide basic first aid, CPR, and AED operation as needed.
Assists in the inspection and maintenance of fire apparatus and equipment.
Assists with maintaining a clean and hazard-free work environment.
Operates radio-telephone equipment and communicates information to Fire Chief.
Perform all duties while being exposed to the elements.
Performs other firefighting and related emergency tasks consistent with standards for the position.
Basic
Qualifications:
At least 21 years of age or older as required by applicable law or contractual requirements Ability to pass an extensive employment prescreening, including a background check, drug screen, medical physical exam (NFPA 1582), and driving history check.
Ability to provide documentation of all certification transcripts and/or education Education and
Experience:
A High school diploma or equivalent (GED) Previous or current volunteer or career firefighting experience Certifications and Licenses:
A valid North Carolina class C driver's license Previous or current volunteer or career firefighting experience Firefighter I and II certification from the North Carolina Office of State Fire Mashal (NC OSFM), International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC), Pro Board, or National Registry Skills and Characteristics:
Mechanical aptitude Ability to understand and carry out complex verbal and written instructions Ability to work in a team environment Ability to work in high-pressure situations.
Ability to adapt quickly and calmly in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to problem-solve quickly.
High attention to detail Emotional intelligence and awareness Creative thinking skills Ability to be assertive in emergency situations Ability to work in high heat and humidity conditions.
